school than the one he attends, except by consent of the University on written request of the principals of both schools. Exclusion from Regents shall not be used as a means of discipline.

All pupils who have pursued the subject for a time not less than that prescribed by the state syllabus, shall be admitted to the examination in that subject, unless it is otherwise ordered by direction of the princepal of the school, and approved by the local superintendent of schools where there is such an officer. All pupils who have not pursued the subject for an adequate length of time must be excluded from the examination, but this requirement may be waived by the President of the University on application and certificate of the principal in the case of pupils of exceptional maturity of training.

Candidates who are not attending any University institution may be admitted to examinations in such an institution upon 20 days notice and identification satisfactory to the principal.

Requirements regarding themes, essays, etc., in English, notebooks in History and Science, reference reading in History, English and other subjects, and other special requirements in particular branches are parts of the above rule and must also be fulfilled to entitle the candidates to admission to Regents examinations.

Pupils not pursuing a subject in class will be required to pass a special examination in that subject before being admitted to Regents.

HOBART HIGH SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION

1. The basis for graduation is the Regents Academic or College Entrace Diploma.

2. Any student who is a candidate for graduation shall receive the High School Diploma, provided

First: The candidate must have to his or her credit 11 Academic units, when seeking admission to the Senior Class in September.

Second: The candidate must be registered in subjects aggregating 4 units, the time requirements of which shall have been completed by the end of that class, except extra counts have been earned during previous years.
